About the Author

Guilherme Murta defended his Master Thesis and graduated as an architect from the Department of Architecture of the University of Coimbra, Portugal, after spending one year studying in the Czech Technical University, in Prague.

Before graduating he collaborated with the Oporto based studio, Arquiporto. He then proceeded with his internship at OAB; a Barcelona-based architectural studio; where he performed several tasks for projects and exhibitions taking place in Spain, Turkey, USA, Morocco and France.

Upon return to Coimbra, he has been working in the Light Steel Framing industry for the last 12 years, as both an architect and a construction site manager for Cool Haven, where he coordinates the Project Department since 2015, also serving as COO since 2020.

As a Dept. Coordinator, he manages the construction process, supervises design and production phases and collaborates in the constructive system R&D Dept. He was responsible for the design and execution of projects developed for a wide range of programs and typologies (Residential, Hospitality, Educational, Healthcare, Leisure, Exhibition, MicroHousing, etc) spread over 3 different Continents, with a special emphasis on the French, Portuguese, African and South American markets.

​ He also works as an R&D Project Manager, coordenating Cool Haven's participaction ​in R&D projects funded by the EU and developed by several consortiums of European universities and private companies.
