PV Adapt Prototype

Client: H2020 - EU

Site: Coimbra , Portugal

Architecture: Guilherme Murta

Year: 2019

Size: 100m2

Funded under: SOCIETAL CHALLENGES

Type: Prototype

The author, in close collaboration with PVadapt’s WP3 partners (Arch Reinberg and LKS) and the technical coordination, presented a clear upgrading of the generic proposal for the design and construction of the Coimbra’s prototype initially foreseen in the project Grant Agreement.

The proposed evolutionary design will still comply with nZEB standards as it was originally stated in the G.A. yielding 80-100% of electricity and DHW demand and thus, covering the needs of the market and also demonstrating the impact of PvAdapt on people's lives.

That is, in Cool Haven’s point of view, the definition of R&D collaborative work, and represents a drastic and absolutely essential improvement for the PVadapt project.

Furthermore, the proposed alternative option will not affect the expected timeframe of the project but on the contrary, will give an excellent opportunity to focus on the enhancement of the solutions in a more realistic scale.

Finally yet importantly, the proposed design will give Cool Haven a more competitive position in the market towards a better exploitation, taking into account that the proposed building’s architecture actually addresses the needs of the prefabricated construction market.
